Yes, I know it seems a bit juvenile at first. Sort of like John Wayne painting confirmed “ace” points on a Flying Tiger P-40, on my Class A “cockpit” door.

And it was tempting to cheat by filling in states I had already visited by plane, or railroad. But, I really have to admit I am proud of what we have filled in on our map.

It also saves a lot of explaining to those who wonder what route we followed all the way from Alaska, to Florida. Bragging, but not really bragging, we actually have made a lot of friends among fellow travelers who are more interested in where we have been, instead of what year our RV model was built.

Problem is the fancy design state stickers we purchased over the choice of solid colors, have been fading rapidly to the point the viewer has to be too close to visualize what and where. Plus, without having the Canada map to anchor Alaska, we have always had a problem realistically positioning the Alaska Highway. We also need to show the good people of Baja that we respect their home, also.

So, what a delight to find a simple way to order all three of the maps we need to update our travels. The trick is to call ahead to a park and ask if they would hold a express delivery until your arrival.
